Growing up in the Italian community, your Italian elders were forever present; church, social gatherings, weddings or a Sunday visit. Silvio was that person for me, I knew him all my life and seeing him was a comfort as it brought me to the safe memory of the Italian community of my childhood. When I was 17, I was brought back to that feeling when I saw him on the 144 bus pulling up to take me to college in Bromsgrove. Thank you Silvio, thank you for being part of the Italian community, creating a safe group for us to grow up in and allow me to recall some warm childhood memories.
